Compostela Souvenir, mapa del Camino de Santiago.

Hay muchos caminos de Santiago, desde el camino celta que discurría hasta el mismo altar del arasolis (en el fin del mundo antiguo, o Finisterre, y que fue creado probablemente por los fenicios) pasando por los diferentes caminos cristianos, desde los lugares más recónditos. La leyenda reconoce su origen en el momento en que Pelayo descubre entre la maleza del bosque una pequeña capilla. Atraído por unas luces en el cielo (la vía láctea) se adentra en la espesura del bosque para encontrar el templo que protege los restos del Apóstol Santiago, cuyos restos habían sido traídos por sus discípulos desde Palestina en una barca de piedra que llegó por orden divina a las costas gallegas. A partir de ahí, el resto es historia.
Vetusta, una vetusta y encantadora librería con su propia historia ofrece mapas del antiguo camino de Santiago por menos de 5 euros. Un buen recuerdo para llevarse de vuelta y, sin duda, enmarcar. Si has venido a pie, para recordarte los miles de pasos que habrás dado junto a miles de persona a lo largo de los años. Si has venido de manera más cómoda, para animarte a volver “a la antigua usanza”, o para inventarte tu propia aventura que contar a las visitas más aburridas. Ya que un mapa antiguo siempre tiene ese poso mítico y legendario, y un mapa antiguo sobre el camino de Santiago, todavía más. There are many different Ways of St James, like the Celtic one that reached the very altar of the arasolis (in the end of the old world, or Finisterre, and probably created by the Phoenicians) as well as different Christian ways, from the most recondite places. The legend recognizes its origin the moment Pelayo discovers a small chapel in the forest brushwood. Attracted by some lights in the sky (the Milky Way) he goes deeper into the forest to find the temple protecting Saint James, the apostle, whose remains had been brought by his disciples from Palestine in a stone ship that arrived at the Galician coast by divine command. The rest is just history.
Vetusta, an old and lovely bookshop with its own history sells maps of the Old Way to Santiago for just 5 euros. A great souvenir to take back home and it is perfect to frame. If you walked all the Way, it can remind you of the thousands of steps you may have walked besides thousands of people along the years; If you came in a more comfortable way, it can encourage you to come “according to the old custom” or to make up your own adventure and talk about it to the most boring visits. An old map certainly possesses a kind of mythical and legendary reminiscence… so an old map of Saint James Way even more.
