El lugar preferido por los compostelanos, durante generaciones, para pasear en sus ratos ociosos. Sus imbatibles vistas de la fachada oeste de la catedral (las mejores) su importante interés botánico: Robles centenarios, majestuosos eucaliptos, castaños de indias, los gingko bilobas… hacen de este parque el más visitado de la oferta verde compostelana. La huella decimonónica se deja ver en su estructura, dividida en tres partes, o los paseos diferenciados (en el salón central) para las distintas clases sociales, además de en variedad de monumentos y curiosidades que merece la pena descubrir, como el Kiosco musical, el banco acústico (de piedra semicircular cuya particularidad es que transmite el sonido con absoluta nitidez, incluso un susurro) o la capilla de Santa Susana-si te gustan las películas de miedo intenta visitarla cuando la Berenguela (la campana de la catedral) da las doce de la noche-¡da su repelús!

The favourite place for the citizens of Compostela throughout generations to take a walk in their idle time. Unbeatable views of the west facade of the Cathedral-the best ones-, its botanical interest: millenarian oaks, magnificent eucalyptus, Indian chestnuts or ginkgo bilobas are just some of the reasons that make of this park the most visited on the green offer of the city. The nineteenth Century curiosities of its origins are present, for instance, in the three-part-structure or the separate walkways for the different social classes, and many other monuments and oddities that are worth discovering, like the musical ‘kiosko’, the acoustic bench- with a semi-circular structure in which sound is transmitted with absolute definition, even a whisper- or the Santa Susana Chapel, try to visit it when the Berenguela (the cathedral’s bell) strikes 12 pm, creepy!
