Nos resulta muy difícil hablar de este lugar, ya que, como sucede en contadas ocasiones, los puntos fuertes del recoleto local, a escasos metros del Monasterio de San Paio de Antealtares, son todos.
La Borriquita de Belén, situada en una de las zonas más nobles de la ciudad vieja, tiene mucho en común con la Bodeguita del Medio: Son y excelentes mojitos, que nada tienen que envidiar al mítico local cubano. La hierbabuena fresca y la angostura impregnan el lugar, pero también huele a exquisitos finos, manzanillas y olorosos andaluces, y a la mejor cerveza de importación. La experiencia sensorial no se queda en el gusto y el olfato. Los mejores músicos de directo visitan a Angie y su troupe siempre que pueden, esto es porque el equipo de la Borriquita los trata como verdaderos amigos, y como tal tratan ellos al público, ofreciendo impagables horas de música en directo.
Esto quizás suene a lugares comunes: excelente servicio, excelentes copas, excelente música…sólo que esta vez no puede ser más cierto. De hecho, si después del segundo mojito al son del mejor jazz afrocubano, no estás moviendo los pies irresistiblemente, con las mejillas coloradas y una sonrisa tonta en la cara, nosotros pagamos la siguiente ronda.

BORRIQUITA DE BELÉN San Paio, 22 It is quite difficult to talk about this place because, just a few meters from the Monastery of San Paio de Antealtares, this quiet place has very many strong points and this does not happen very often. La Borriquita de Belén is located at one of the noblest areas in the old city and it has many things in common with Bodeguita del Medio: “son” and excellent “mojitos”, at least as good as the ones at the Cuban place. Fresh mint and “angostura” impregnate the place, but also excellent Andalusian “finos”, “manzanillas” and “olorosos”, and the best imported beer as well. Wonderful musicians visit Angie and her troupe whenever they can and that is because Borriquita´s team treats them as real friends, and they do the same with their clients offering them priceless hours of live music. They may look like common places: excellent service, excellent drinks, excellent music… but this time it is really true. In fact, if after the second “mojito” and the rhythm of the best Afro-Cuban jazz you are not moving your feet irresistibly, with red cheeks and a silly smile in the face, we pay for the next round.
